Speckled teal / Pato barcino (Anas flavirostris)

The Speckled teal is distributed in the Andes from Colombia and Venezuela, south to Chile and Argentina and, at lower altitudes to eastern Argentina, Southern Brazil, Uruguay and including the Falklands. Therefore, this species has a large range, with an estimated distribution of 3,700,000 km². Its global population is estimated to be 1,100,000-1,200,000 individuals. Global population trends have not been quantified, but the species is not believed to approach the thresholds for a population decline.
El Pato barcino se distribuye en los Andes desde Colombia y Venezuela, sur de Chile y Argentina y en las altitudes más bajas, en el este de Argentina, sur de Brasil, Uruguay e incluso las islas Malvinas. Por tanto esta especie cuenta con una distribución de más de 3,700,000 km² y una amplia población de 1,100,000-1,200,000 individuos. Las tendencias globales de población no han sido cuantificadas, pero no se cree que la especie se acerque de ningún modo al umbral de extinción.
